Unlock the power of accurate analysis for electric vehicles

The global trend towards clean energy and a net-zero carbon economy is gaining momentum. Electrification is one of the transformations for all viable routes to net-zero. EV development has been accelerating in response to this trend. In the US, the government targets 50 % of newly manufactured vehicles to be zero-emission vehicles by 2030. Automakers are developing EVs at a rapid pace. EV powertrains have leveraged WBG (Wide Bandgap) semiconductors such as SiC (Silicon Carbide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride) semiconductors instead of traditional Si (Silicon) semiconductors to make the system efficient, resulting in light vehicle weight and long EV range. Vehicle performance and design are optimized through testing at each development stage. Testing accurately and efficiently expedites development. EV-specific system structures and the adoption of WBG semiconductors in the powertrain can bring challenges. In this paper, we discuss current testing challenges regarding power analysis in EV development and introduce solutions
