Coca-Cola Canada Bottling to use Volvo VNR Electric trucks in pilot program

Volvo Trucks North America has announced that its electric trucks will be used by Coca-Cola Canada Bottling as part of a pilot program in the Greater Montreal Area.

Coke Canada operates a fleet of 650 heavy-duty trucks.

On April 13, Volvo Trucks hosted a demo day for delivery drivers, who learned to extend range by maximizing return of power to the battery with regenerative braking.

The Volvo VNR Electric has a six-battery configuration that can cover up to 440 km on a full charge, ample for the several daily round trips of 150 km made from the Montreal distribution center, where the company plans to install three 150 kW DC chargers with nine dispensers.
