Rivian launches leasing for R1T electric pickup truck in 14 states

Rivian has launched a leasing program for its R1T electric pickup truck for customers in selected US states.

Customers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington can now sign up to lease an R1T pickup from the automaker’s existing inventory.

The $7,500 federal tax credit for EV purchases also applies to leased vehicles.

For now, leasing is only available for existing R1T models in the automaker’s inventory. Rivian says it will eventually expand its leasing program to custom-built vehicles, including the R1S, and make it available in more states.

Rivian says it has been experiencing strong demand, and recently raised its production forecast for the full year by 2,000 vehicles, to 54,000.

Buyers can learn about leasing options by using the R1T configurator or by visiting Rivian’s lease support page, which also offers information about federal tax credits for leasing a new EV.
