Charge station management specialist Liberty Plugins has partnered with charger manufacturer Wallbox to launch the US-made Liberty CodeConnect Wallbox Charger. The new product combines the Wallbox Pulsar Plus EV charger with Liberty’s patented CodeConnect encryption technology to enable management features such as access control and payment without the need for an internet connection.
The Liberty CodeConnect Wallbox Charger makes it possible to sell charging sessions in previously problematic markets—for example, at remote sites that lack a reliable internet connection, or secure sites such as corporate facilities or military bases that don’t want to increase their exposure to cyber-threats.
Operators can sell or distribute temporary time-based session codes to drivers in their organization, or to the public. All CodeConnect chargers are ready to deploy out of the box.
“The Liberty CodeConnect Wallbox Charger represents the natural evolution of our product development: high-quality, intuitively managed charging without the exorbitant fees and high lifetime cost of ownership imposed by other providers,” said Kristen Helsel, CEO of Liberty Plugins. “We’re thrilled to have a partner in Wallbox, a world leader in charging equipment, who shares our vision of making EV charging accessible and affordable.”
“At Wallbox, we believe that EV charging should be simple, smart, and accessible to everyone,” said Esteve Dolsa, General Manager of North America. “By combining Wallbox’s Pulsar Plus hardware with Liberty’s Code Connect technology, we’re enabling a new level of flexibility and affordability for customers.”
Available in two variants, 40 A and 48 A, the Liberty CodeConnect Wallbox Charger is offered at $1,495 per unit plus a subscription fee of $9 per month. Units are available for pre-order now, and shipments are to begin in August.
