Samsung Electro-Mechanics launches new automotive-grade multilayer ceramic capacitor

South Korean electronic components firm Samsung Electro-Mechanics has launched a new automotive-grade multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) for the hybrid inverter markets.

The use of snubber capacitors for the suppression of transients and the mitigation of EMI is becoming a necessity, according to the company. In response, Samsung has expanded its line-up of 2.0 x 1.2 mm, 250 V, X7 products to enable efficient control of transient responses and contribute to miniaturization.

As the requirements for reliable and stable automotive electronics systems increase, so do the demands for high-reliability MLCCs to support stable operations in high-temperature and high-voltage environments. The CL21Z104KEY6PJ# can operate at temperatures between -55 and 125° C at 100 µF. The product meets AEC-Q200 standards.
