Battery diagnostics specialist AVILOO offers a financially backed guarantee of battery health based on independent diagnostic data rather than manufacturer figures. Now the company is making this independent battery warranty available to used EV buyers in Norway and Denmark.
A used EV’s battery is typically its most expensive component, and its real state of health is hard to judge from age or mileage alone, since capacity fade depends on charging habits, temperature and how the pack has been used. The warranty is meant to give buyers a reading that doesn’t rely on the carmaker’s numbers.
For each vehicle, AVILOO calculates an individual State of Health (SoH) limit from its global diagnostics database, setting the minimum capacity the battery must hold at 20,000 km during the one-year warranty period. If the battery drops below that limit, the buyer receives 23,000 kr in Denmark or 34,000 kr in Norway, plus a full refund of the test cost.
The warranty is built on the AVILOO FLASH Test, a three-minute, manufacturer-neutral check that measures real capacity, thermal management and charging performance rather than reading the vehicle’s own management system. AVILOO says it covers 96% of EV models on the road, and that its methods and certificates are certified by TÜV and CARA.
Norway and Denmark join the European markets where the warranty is already available: the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, France and Sweden.
“Norway and Denmark are two of the most mature EV markets in the world, so bringing the Battery Warranty here is a natural next step,” said Marcus Berger, CEO of AVILOO. “Buyers deserve real certainty on the single most expensive part of their car, backed by data, not guesswork.”
